Fitment, Installation & Product-Use Policy

Performance and replacement parts must match the exact vehicle and be installed and used correctly. This policy explains the responsibilities associated with compatibility tools, technical guidance, installation and regulated automotive products.

1. Fitment information is vehicle-specific

Compatibility can depend on year, make, model, generation, chassis, trim, engine, transmission, drivetrain, axle, wheelbase, cab or body configuration, build date, emissions certification, market, VIN, factory options and existing modifications. Two vehicles with the same marketing model name may require different products.

2. Customer information and verification

You are responsible for providing complete and accurate vehicle information and reviewing manufacturer instructions, measurements and exclusions. Compare the manufacturer part number and physical requirements with the vehicle before installation. When uncertain, contact us with relevant vehicle details. Do not submit a full VIN unless reasonably necessary.

3. Vehicle selector and search results

A vehicle selector, filter, title or “fits your vehicle” indicator is based on available manufacturer, distributor or catalog data. It narrows likely compatibility but is not an unconditional guarantee. Data may omit mid-year production changes, regional differences, optional packages or modifications. A universal product is not automatically suitable merely because it appears in a broad category.

4. Modifications

Tell us about modifications that could affect compatibility, including engine swaps, forced induction, tuning, suspension height, brake conversions, non-standard wheels or tires, body modifications, aftermarket exhaust, differential, transmission and prior collision repair. Parts designed for an original configuration may not fit a modified vehicle.

5. Inspection before installation

Before installation, compare the new and removed parts; verify dimensions, ports, connectors, hardware, clearances, handedness and part number; inspect for damage; and read all instructions. Stop if anything differs unexpectedly. Do not paint, drill, weld, cut, wire, program, fill with fluid or otherwise alter a questionable product before contacting us.

6. Professional installation

Automotive work can cause injury, death, fire, emissions violations or vehicle damage if performed incorrectly. Products affecting brakes, steering, suspension, fuel, electrical, engine management, restraints, wheels, tires and structural components should be installed and inspected by a qualified professional using appropriate tools, specifications and safety procedures.

FSP does not provide installation services merely by selling a part or answering a product question. General support is not a substitute for a professional’s inspection of the vehicle.

7. Calibration, programming and tuning

Some products require coding, relearning, alignment, balancing, calibration, tuning or supporting modifications. You are responsible for confirming these requirements before installation. Software licenses and device registrations may be non-transferable or non-returnable after activation.

8. Wheels, tires and fasteners

Wheel and tire compatibility requires verification of diameter, width, offset, bolt pattern, center bore, load rating, brake clearance, tire size, suspension clearance and fastener seat. Recheck torque according to the vehicle and component manufacturer. Do not rely on appearance or bolt pattern alone.

9. Emissions and public-road legality

Federal, California and other state laws may restrict products that alter emissions or defeat required controls. A product marked “not CARB approved,” “race use only,” “competition use only” or “off-road only” must not be sold, installed or used contrary to law. You are responsible for the rules applicable to the registration and use location. We may restrict shipment by destination.

10. Motorsport and off-road use

Motorsport and off-road activity involves inherent risk. A racing designation does not mean a product is safe for every competition, sanctioning body or vehicle. Confirm rules, inspection requirements, operating limits and maintenance intervals. Competition use may void a manufacturer warranty.

11. Labor and consequential expenses

Unless FSP expressly agrees in writing or applicable law requires otherwise, product remedies do not include installation or removal labor, diagnostics, alignment, tuning, towing, storage, vehicle rental, travel, lost use, lost income or damage caused by continued operation after a problem becomes apparent.

12. Safety reporting

Stop using a product immediately if it appears unsafe. Contact FSP and the manufacturer with the product, order and vehicle information. For a vehicle or equipment safety issue, you may also report concerns to the appropriate governmental authority, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration where applicable.
